1) believe in yourself! be humble and dont get cocky like the stepsisters.
2) A moral lesson that can be learned from Cinderella, is that we should treat all people equally, no matter what their status.
3) You should treat people the way you would like to be treated and then more good comes out of it than evil.
4) Treat people as you want to be treated
5) Rich or poor,people should
be treated with respect ,dignity , humanity, and understanding.
6) Love
is not limited to blood relatives nor should it be but that everyone
should be treated with love and loved.
7) You can aspire to any thing in
the world and you are not to feel that you can do anything you set your
mind to or achieve any goal you want
8) Parents should keep an eye on
what is going on under their roofs and make sure they everyone is
treated fairly
9) Parents are responsible for the moral compass of their
children.
10) Finally, nobody knows the future or what it holds for us
hence do unto others as you want done unto you. The above lessons are
pertinent to the story of Cinderella and the morals it seeks to impart
though not the only ones.
It
has been a year since Cinderella married the prince. Both of them go to
the forest to attend a wedding anniversary that the mice and Fairy
Godmother have prepared. Meanwhile, Anastasia and Drizella,
who are currently taking over Cinderella's jobs at the household, are
not having a good time. Anastasia manages to follow Cinderella and the
prince to where the anniversary is. Figuring out that magic was what
gave Cinderella her "happily ever after", she swipes the wand and turns
home quickly and shows it to Lady Tremaine and her sister, both thinking
she has lost her mind.
The fairy godmother shows up and attempts to get the wand back
from Anastasia, who accidentally turns her into a statue. Impressed,
Lady Tremaine takes the wand and reverses Cinderella's happy ever after
by replacing her with Anastasia and going back to the events at the end
of the first movie. She made what was originally a tiny shoe fit
Anastasia's big foot with Cinderella being locked in her tower, only to
be freed to see Anastasia and Drizella leaving. Lady Tremaine speaks
with Cinderella and tells her to not approach the prince or Anastasia
and shatters the replacement slipper Cinderella pulls out. When Lady
Tremaine leaves, this leads Gus and Jaq
to appear and for Cinderella to sing "So Much More". Gus and Jaq try
cheering her up, Jaq saying that "Princey knows he danced with
Cinderelley last night!" and gives Cinderella the idea to go after the
prince and convince him that they danced together.
Skipping back
to the step family, they've arrived at the castle, where the prince is
speaking while sword fighting with his father.
They go into discussion about how the king was immediately smitten by
his queen, the prince's mother, who had passed on years before. With
Anastasia arriving, the prince is, at first, glad as he thinks it's the
girl he danced with (Cinderella), but slightly disappointed when seeing
Anastasia. He tells her that she will get an escort home, but Lady
Tremaine uses the wand to make him forget who he really danced with and
to marry Anastasia that night. The prince falls under the spell and,
believing he danced with Anastasia, gives her the ring to marry them.
Anastasia goes hyper and agrees to the marriage.
Meanwhile, Gus and Jaq had witnessed this event from a lamp high
above the scene since they got inside with Cinderella, who was claiming
to be the royal mouse catcher to stay inside. Gus and Jaq play along
and, when viewing this scene, they rush off to tell Cinderella. Later
on, Cinderella is seen confronting the prince and both are confused, the
prince thinking he danced with Anastasia yet Cinderella knows the
truth. She is cut short from saying what really happened and forced to
go find the mice (Jaq and Gus) that have come into the castle.
Cinderella is placed in the cellar where Gus and Jaq tell her what Lady
Tremaine had done to the prince, Cinderella now set on getting the wand
back.
Anastasia and the prince have a moment where they dance and
Anastasia is repeatedly stepping on his foot by accident. When the Waltz
is over, the king summons her into another room while the Duke takes
the prince out and tells her about his wife. He gave her the queen's
most treasured possession, which is a seashell. Both the king and queen
were walking one day on a beach, unknowing of one another, and reached
for said seashell at the same time. Their hands met and they fell in
love. He allows Anastasia to keep the shell, who is smitten with it
instantly. The prince tells the Duke that he felt nothing when his hand
connected with Anastasia's and is once again confused. Jaq and Gus get
into the room where the step family is staying and Lucifer tries chasing both mice, but his tail manages to get caught on fire,
prompting the famous line "Someone put out the cat!" coming into play.
Anastasia throws a pillow against him and whams him right into the wall,
the stepmother demanding that someone would call for house keeping.
Cinderella gets into the room in disguise with her bandanna covering her
eyes and hair.
Lady Tremaine pulls the bandanna off to reveal Cinderella. Jaq
and Gus get the wand and the three make a run for it down the halls
while being chased by guards. With Jaq and Gus using the magic from the
wand, they transform Lucifer into a jack in the box first, then a
mini-sized Lucifer, then back to normal when he's in the mouse hole.
Cinderella makes it to a staircase where the prince appears, Cinderella
trying to cast the spell on him so he would remember who he really
danced with. This is cut off when the guards get to her and Lady
Tremaine takes back the wand. Cinderella manages to grace her hand over
the prince's, which has him shocked and now baffled. Lady Tremaine
orders for Cinderella to be on the next ship on exile from the kingdom.
Late afternoon, the prince is seen talking to his father but
motions into a small room resembling a library. A study room perhaps. He
speaks with Jaq and Gus who perform the song "At the ball" explaining
that he danced with Cinderella and that he was under a spell. This
causes him to hurry out the room and to the stairs where he confronts
his father, who forbids him from stepping down the stairs. The prince
agrees, only to jump out the window and climb down the vines then gets
on his horse and demands one of the guards to tell him where Cinderella
is. He rushes off to her rescue so she isn't sent away for good, the
king allowing this to happen when he sees it. The prince and his trusty
steed race after the boat, where they end up running through a
lighthouse and the horse gets scared of heights. The prince is seen
flying onto the boat and using a small blade against the sail to soften
his fall. He sees Cinderella and places his hand against hers and knows
it was her who he danced with.
They return to the castle and the king orders for Lady Tremaine,
Anastasia, and Drizella to be brought into custody. They vanish and the
prince says that it is Cinderella who he wants to marry. When Cinderella
is in front of a mirror and getting ready for the wedding, Lady
Tremaine appears from a closet behind Cinderella with Anastasia in
Cinderella's appearance. Lady Tremaine then makes Cinderella vanish into
a pumpkin carriage, this one being evil with a human version of Lucifer
as the driver. The intent is to have her die. With the help of Jaq and
Gus, the three conquer over the pumpkin carriage and Lucifer, then ride
back on the horse that was used and make it back to the wedding just in
time to see Anastasia (Still using Cinderella's appearance) saying "I
don't", having realized that she doesn't truly love the prince. Lady
Tremaine is infuriated. The king orders his guards to seize her. In a
fit of lust, with no fear, Lady Tremaine immediately uses the wand and
turns them all into various animals as they all lunge for her, so they
can't get to her. When proceeding to turn both Cinderella and Anastasia
into frogs, the prince doesn't stand for this and used his sword to
reflect the spell against the two, causing both Lady Tremaine and
Drizella to disappear and then reappear in the cellar as frogs.
Anastasia picks up the wand and returns to normal then gives the
wand to Cinderella and attempts to give the seashell back to the king,
who lets her keep it by saying "Everybody deserves true love." Both
Cinderella and Anastasia bring back the fairy godmother from her stone
state, who offers to undo Lady Tremaine's change of events but the offer
goes unheard of, as Cinderella and the prince get married on that day.
The ending credits show several paintings depicting the main cast before
showing both Drizella and Lady Tremaine being restored to their human
forms, but wearing Cinderella's cleaning clothes and brooms!
(Cinderella's story)
Cinderella is put in charge of the palace banquets and parties, but
realizes she
doesn't agree with the way they are usually run, led by a sharp and
sobbish woman named Prudence, who takes her from her husband and
stepmother Lady Tremaine and stepsisters Drizella and Anastasia
(although the stepfamily are only seen in the An Uncommon Romance segment). With the help of other characters, Cinderella
convinces everyone in the palace that everyone in the kingdom,
including the peasants, should be allowed to participate in the next
royal banquet and not everything has to agree with traditional ways.
The mice add
Cinderella's story of her first day in the castle to the book as Jaq
gets some magical help from the Fairy Godmother
opening a bottle of ink. Proclaiming that he doesn't like ("even a
little [of]") "that magic stuff," Gus reminds him of his last encounter
with it. Looking to impress a female mouse Jaq allows the Fairy
Godmother to tell his story.
(Jaq's story) One of mouse
Cinderella friends, Jaq, thinks he's too small to help Cinderella in
the palace like he did in the first movie. The Fairy Godmother shows up
to help him out, and turns him into a human so he can help out like
everyone else. However, this does not stop Pom-Pom, the palace's snobby
cat (who became the mice's new nemesis as soon as they moved to the
palace along with Ciderella and becomes Lucifer's crush in the third
segment) from chasing Jaq around (Pom-Pom thought Jaq
in human form was worth approximately ten mice). Mistakenly taken for
"Sir Hugh", after an incident with an elephant at a fair, he learns to
be happy for who he is. It is also made evident that Jaq is in love with
another mouse named Mary and that Pom-Pom belongs to the same woman who
was terrified of Jaq.
In a magic mishap, one of the mice spills magic dust onto the art
supplies causing them to become animated. The supplies begin to wreak
havoc on the nearly completed book until the Fairy Godmother puts a stop
to it. As the mice survey the mess they reminisce how they've seen
worse and Jaq tells them of the time Anastasia fell in love.
(Anastasia's story) Anastasia,
Cinderella's younger stepsister, falls in love with a common baker,
which her mother and older sister Drizella aren't too happy with. Her
mother and Drizella still want her to marry a rich man, and convince her
to forget about the baker and say that everything in the baker's shop
is inferior; thus, Anastasia has to go against her mother for the first
time. At the same time, Lucifer (who was believed to have died at the
first film's end) starts chasing Cinderella's mice and Anastasia is
kicked by a horse when she and the baker meet, causing her to be left in
rags by getting bread all over herself and breaks in tears when she
crashes into the baker's shop. However, Cinderella finds out about
Anastasia's feelings and tries to push her and the baker together.
During the process, Lucifer enters the palace and continues to chase
Cinderella's mice, but during the chase, he falls in love with Pom Pom
despite her disliking him. The mice help their old nemesis Lucifer fall
in love with Pom Pom, that is, if Lucifer promises to stop chasing mice.
When Lucifer and Pom Pom get together, Pom Pom goads Lucifer into
breaking his promise and helping her catch the mice. In the ensuing
chase, the mice push a bucket of water on Pom Pom, and she dumps Lucifer
out of spite. The baker, meanwhile, asks Anastasia to the upcoming
ball, which her mother and Drizella are very unhappy about and Drizella
tells her mother that Anastasia's become a disaster, and that she
(Drizella) and her mother will become the laughing stock of the entire
town. Anastasia stays with the baker and falls in love.
With a sigh, the mice finish their book. They sing a reprise of "Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo"
as they chase after Cinderella in an attempt to give her the book. When
they catch up with her, she asks them what it is, and Gus tells her
that it is a book about them all. Cinderella thinks it's wonderful, and
asks if the mice would like to read it together to which the mice give a
resounding "Yes!" They gather in front of the fire and Cinderella
begins to read the book, "Once Upon a Time..."
Cinderella
is the much-loved only child of a widowed aristocrat. After deciding
that his beloved daughter needs a mother's care, Cinderella's father
marries Lady Tremaine, a proud woman with two daughters from her first
marriage, Drizella and Anastasia.
Plain and socially awkward, these stepsisters are bitterly envious of
the beautiful and charming Cinderella. After the death of Cinderella's
father, Lady Tremaine and her daughters take over the estate, and begin
to abuse and mistreat Cinderella out of jealousy, and even allow their
cat, Lucifer, to torment her. Despite being forced into servitude in her
own home, Cinderella becomes a kind woman and befriends the animals
living in the barn and many of the mice and birds who live in and around
the chateau.
At the royal palace, the King is distressed that his son does not
intend to marry. Determined to have grandchildren, the King and the
Duke organize a ball for Prince Charming
in an effort to enable his son to marry, with every eligible maiden in
the kingdom requested to attend. When the invitation to the ball
arrives, Cinderella asks her stepmother if she can attend, since she too
is an eligible maiden. Lady Tremaine agrees, provided Cinderella
finishes her chores. Her animal friend, led by Jaq and Gus,
fix a gown that belonged to Cinderella's mother. When Cinderella wears
her dress just before departing, Lady Tremaine complements Cinderella's
gown, subtly pointing out the beads and sash. Angered by the apparent
theft of the discarded items, the stepsisters destroy the gown, forcing
Cinderella to remain behind while her stepfamily leaves for the royal
ball.
At the point of giving up her dreams, Cinderella's Fairy Godmother
appears and bestows upon Cinderella a silver blue dress with glass
slippers, and transforms a pumpkin and various animals into a carriage
with horses, a coachman and a footman. Cinderella departs for the ball
after the godmother warns her that the spell will break at the stroke of
midnight, meaning that her dress and everything else will change back
to the way they were. At the ball, the Prince rejects every girl, until
he sees Cinderella. The two fall in love and dance alone throughout the
castle grounds until the clock starts to chime midnight. Cinderella
flees to her coach and away from the castle, inadvertently dropping one
of her glass slippers. After the Duke tells the King of the disaster,
they plan to find Cinderella with the slipper they recovered during her
exit.
The next morning, the King proclaims that the Grand Duke will
visit every house in the kingdom to find the girl who fits the glass
slipper, so that she can be married to the Prince. When this news
reaches Cinderella's household, her stepmother and stepsisters prepare
for the Grand Duke's arrival. Cinderella, overhearing the news, begins
dreamily humming the song from the palace ball the previous night. Upon
realizing that Cinderella is the girl who danced with the Prince, Lady
Tremaine locks Cinderella up to her attic bedroom.
When the Grand Duke arrives, the mice steal the key to
Cinderella's room, but before they can deliver it they are ambushed by
Lucifer. The animals alert Bruno,
Cinderella's Bloodhound, who scares Lucifer out of the house. As the
Duke prepares to leave after the stepsisters unsuccessfully try on the
slipper, Cinderella appears and requests to try it on. Knowing that the
slipper will fit, Lady Tremaine trips the footman, causing him to drop
the slipper, which shatters into hundreds of pieces. The Duke laments
over the broken slipper, but Cinderella then produces the other glass
slipper, much to her stepmother's horror. Delighted at this indisputable
proof of the maiden's identity, the Duke slides the slipper onto her
foot, which fits perfectly. Soon after, Cinderella and the Prince wed,
surrounded by confetti tossed by the King, the Grand Duke, and the mice.
A major character in Cinderella. The Grand Duke is the king's
right-hand man and is in charge of keeping peace in the Kingdom. The
Grand Duke is featured in one of the film's most famous scenes. Due to
this, the Grand Duke is a somewhat iconic character.
PERSONALITY
The Grand Duke's most striking quality is that he is extremely clumsy and usually calm, a direct foil to the king's
romanticism and passionate temper. He is also rather nervous - likely
due to the King's temper being taken out on him so frequently - but not
depicted as cowardly. He feels that love at first sight is just a
romantic fairy-tale, and points out to the King that the glass slipper which Prince Charming
finds could fit any number of girls. He is extremely loyal to the King,
despite showing fear of his threats when things go wrong.
g. He gives Lady Tremaine a
tour of the castle and believes Anastasia will not make a decent wife.
The Duke attends the wedding where Cinderella is revealed to be the true
princess and peace is restored.
Minor
character in the film Cinderella III : A Twist in Time . The Queen was
the mother of Price Charming, the wife of and the king in theory, the
mother-in-law of Cinderella. She was the Queen of the kingdom and died
before the events of Cinderella.
Although she doesn't have a speaking part in the movie, she is
constantly mentioned by her husband and son. She appears in paintings.
In the film her love story with the king is a story that would change
Anastasia's
intentions and help the Prince realize that he is in love with
Cinderella, so the Queen is an important character in the film. In
paintings, the Queen bears quite a striking resemblance to Anastasia.
PERSONALITY
She was a very good Queen, loved by her subjects. She and her husband
were very much in love, he keeps portraits of her in many rooms of the
castle and keeps her most prized possession: a shell. Her son the Prince
has a lot of respect for his mother and was always following her
advice. The King sees his wife in Anastasia because, like the Queen, she
doesn't know how to dance and he also believes she is a good and kind
person, a statement which makes Anastasia change her ways .
The King is an important character from the film Cinderella
and its two sequels. He was voiced by Luis Van Rooten in his debut appearance,
and was later voiced by Andre Stojka in Cinderella II: Dreams Come True and
Cinderella III: A Twist in Time.
PERSONALITY
The King is Prince Charming's father and is the ruler of an
unnamed Kingdom. He has a passionate temper, but is a romantic who believes in
love at first sight. He and his son were apparently close at one point, but
grew apart as the prince grew older (as boys often do). As the king is getting
old, he wants his son to be married because he wants to be able to see his
grandchildren before he passes on to the next life. He provides comedy for the
three films. It is likely that his Queen passed away before the events in
Cinderella (1950 film), because she is never seen. It is revealed that he loved
his wife very much, which probably led to his romantic side.
His temper was shown several times to be
next-to-unreasonable in his mission to get his son to marry, and he threatened
the Duke a few times to "encourage" him to follow his orders, alebit
reacting explosively when he heard Cinderella escaped, as he accused the Duke
of treason and tried to kill him with his sword, only becoming placated when he
learned his son would marry the girl who fits the Glass Slipper.
The Fairy Godmother is Cinderella's fairy godmother who
helped her get to the ball in Disney's 1950 film Cinderella and its sequels.
She is also a good friend to Cinderella and everyone. She has appeared in all
three Cinderella motion pictures. Over the years, the Fairy Godmother has
become the most famous and popular character from the film (after Cinderella
herself). She is voiced by Verna Felton in the film, Russi Taylor in the modern
animation and Jane Carr in some theme park entertainment.
PERSONALITY
The Fairy Godmother is very sweet and kind and a motherly
type of person. She cares about people and loves to make her god-daughter,
Cinderella, happy as well as her friends. She is also a little bit absent
minded, as she almost sent Cinderella on her way without fixing her dress.
DrizellaTremaine is Cinderella's bossy and
ugly stupid older stepsister, Anastasia's older sister, and Lady Tremaine's
eldest daughter in Disney's 1950 film Cinderella and its 2 sequels. She is portrayed
as haughty, bossy, abusive and highly disorganized. She is bitterly jealous of
Cinderella's success and beauty and often gets her into trouble. Unlike her
little sister, Anastasia, who changes her spiteful ways and develops into a
kind and good-natured older woman, Drizella remains mean-spirited and cruel,
never overcoming her hatred of Cinderella. In the sequels, though not in the
original film, she is exactly like a younger version of her mother. She was
originally voiced by Rhoda Williams and is currently voiced by Russi Taylor.
PERSONALITY
In the initial movie, Drizella is shown to
be very selfish, spoiled and greedy, much like her mother, Lady Tremaine.
Drizella's main interest is getting a man with lots of money to marry her so
that she can be a socialite like her mother. To this end, she follows Lady
Tremaine's advice in order to impress and avoid failing her. Drizella is the
uglier of the two step-sisters, for, unlike Anastasia, she has not mended her
ways. As a result, she has yet to be loved by a man. In addition, Drizella's
treatment of Anastasia and Cinderella is cruel; she is very bossy and doles out
verbal abuse--again, just like her mother. In Cinderella II: Dreams Come True,
Drizella stated that Anastasia's love for the town's baker would have made them
the laughing stock of the entire town, despite the fact that in Cinderella III:
A Twist in Time, she and her mother end up becoming scullery maids for the rest
of their lives.
Anastasia Tremaine is Cinderella's younger
stepsister, Drizella's younger sister, and Lady Tremaine's younger daughter in
Disney's 1950 film Cinderella and its two sequels. She was voiced by the late
Lucille Bliss in the first film, by Tress MacNeille in the sequels, and by Gina
Tuttle in the Disney on Ice shows and Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep.
PERSONALITY
In the movie, Anastasia was portrayed as
being just as selfish and spoiled as her sister, Drizella. However, her
character is fleshed out considerably in Cinderella II: Dreams Come True and
Cinderella III: A Twist in Time, showing that, while her sister and mother are
socialites, she is more interested in finding somebody who will love her for
who she is. While she is indeed ungraceful and rather ugly in the first movie,
as she becomes a more sympathetic character, she is portrayed as being only
plain (compared to the beauty of Cinderella) rather than ugly. Her hair is seen
as red and curly (styling into long ringlets and bangs).
Her relationship with Cinderella was
incredibly strained in the original film, but the sequel shows that Cinderella
was able to let bygones be bygones. However, Anastasia still felt some envy of
Cinderella's incredible beauty as she was shown to be hesitant in gaining
Cinderella's help to woo the local Baker, with whom she fell in love. It is
possible that she was favored by Lady Tremaine, as in the third film, Lady
Tremaine chose Anastasia to wear the slipper, and marry the prince, when she
altered history using the Fairy Godmother's wand.
However, Anastasia had a romantic side, as
she felt a desire to fall in love, at first with Prince Charming (upon whom her
mother had placed a love spell to get him to love her), but realized, after
speaking with Charming's father about love, that she wanted to be loved for who
she herself is, not because of a spell or a trick, and defied her mother,
returning the wand and apologizing for everything she'd done.
Lady Tremaine (also known as the Wicked
Stepmother) is the main antagonist of Disney's 1950 film Cinderella and its 2
sequels. As the arch-enemy of Cinderella, Lady Tremaine doesn't harm her
stepdaughter physically, but seeks to punish her and not to trust her
psychologically, motivated by jealousy of Cinderella's beauty, as it serves to
accentuate the greediness and awkwardness of the stepmother's own daughters,
Anastasia and Drizella. Lady Tremaine is also a socialite, determined to gain
higher status by marrying one of her daughters to Prince Charming or some
bachelor of noble state.
She is often considered the most hated
Disney villain, being very cold, calculated, bitter and ruthless, and also for
callously maltreating her stepdaughter even when there is no material gain to
be made; she locks Cinderella in her tower room when she knows her own
daughters won't fit the glass slipper.
PERSONALITY
Unlike most other Disney villains, Lady
Tremaine doesn't possess any magical powers or exert any physical force. She
strongly believes in maintaining grace and self-control, reminding her
daughters of this when the two fight during their music lesson. The only time
she herself breaks this rule is, ironically, at the point when Cinderella
interrupts the music lesson to bring Lady Tremaine the invitation to the Royal
Ball and she slams her hands onto the keys of the piano in frustration. She has
a sinister glare and is very cruel to Cinderella; an example is when she
silences Cinderella harshly twice when ordering Cinderella to do chores in the
chateau. She even does the same to Anatasia and Drizella occasionally.
She holds a great envy towards her
stepdaughter simply for her beauty, is utterly insensitive to her, treating her
like a servant in her own home, and is so deviously manipulative in controlling
Cinderella by maintaining a "benevolence" in her authority of the
household and never physically abusing Cinderella, instead leaving that to her
daughters when they tore Cinderella's dress, and cruelly bidding her "good
night" since Cinderella couldn't go to the ball in rags, ultimately
maintaining her apparent fairness, and at the same time manipulating her
daughters to abuse Cinderella in ways she cannot afford to do so personally.
Almost all of Tremaine's actions are
motivated by a hunger for power and status, as she wants to marry her daughters
off to those on the top of the social-ladder, and expects her daughters to be
utterly obedient, and is infuriated when they are not, as seen when Anastasia
chose not to marry Prince Charming, and Tremaine turned the Fairy Godmother's
wand on her own daughter.
In earlier drafts of the screenplay, the Prince originally played a
larger role and had more character development than what he ultimately
received in the final version of the film (the third film would rectify
this, however). In one abandoned opening, the Prince was shown hunting a
deer, but at the end of the sequence, it was to be revealed that the
Prince and the deer were actually friends playing a game. In an
abandoned alternate ending, after the Duke
discovered Cinderella's identity, she was shown being brought to the
castle to be re-introduced to the Prince, who is surprised to learn that
Cinderella was actually a modest servant girl instead of the Princess
he thought she was, but the Prince's feelings for her were too strong to
be bothered by this and he embraced her.
PERSONALITY
Prince Charming was actually, finally given a true personality in the
franchise's final installment. He showed himself to be humorous, vital,
and enjoys ballroom dances. He was also revealed to be a romantic, once
expressing that all he wants is a love as true as the one his parents
had shared. His love for Cinderella was so powerful that, little by
little, it was able to free him from Lady Tremaine's mind-manipulation
spell, and even compel him to jump right out of the castle window to
rescue and propose to Cinderella.
Though elegant enough both mentally and appearance wise, he
appears to be quite a swashbuckler, as shown when he challenges his
father in friendly sword fights, and when he is seen racing on a horse
to save Cinderella in a Twist in Time.
APPEARANCES
CINDERELLA
In the first film, Prince Charming is returning to his home kingdom
after a long absence. Meanwhile, his father, the King, is frustrated
with his son as he has yet to find a wife. The King
misses the sounds of children running around the castle and wishes to
see his grandchildren (offsprings of the Prince and his wife, if he ever
finds himself one) before he passes away. He then
comes up with the idea to throw a welcome ball. The King orders the
Grand Duke to invite every eligible maiden in the kingdom, hoping that
his son will fall in love with one.
The ball takes place in the King's Castle
that very night, where Prince Charming makes his first appearance. One
by one, the maidens in attendance present themselves to the Prince, who
is unimpressed by both the maidens and his father's attempts to match
him up. Eventually, he spots a young girl, Cinderella,
wandering about the ballroom and is enticed by her sparkling
appearance. He walks over to her, courts her to the center of the
ballroom, and the two begin to waltz. He and the girl then share a
private time together, courtesy of The Grand Duke,
during which they fall in love and are about to kiss, but when the
clock begins to strike midnight, she suddenly runs off. The Prince tries
to stop her, wanting to know her name and where to find her, but
becomes surrounded by other maidens attending the ball.
However, the Prince learns that the girl whom he has spent the
night with has disappeared has left behind a glass slipper, so he
decides to marry the girl who can wear the slipper, and the Grand Duke
delivers the news to the King. The King is excited with the idea of his
son being in love and, after a brief struggle with the Duke, orders him
to go on a non-stop search. After hours, the Duke finally finds the
girl, Cinderella, and quickly takes her to the castle, where she and the
Prince are reunited.
Prince Charming is last seen at the film's finale, walking down
the stairs with Cinderella as his bride. The King and the Grand Duke
happily celebrate their marriage as the newlyweds ride off in a carriage
to go out on their honeymoon. As the carriage pulls away, Cinderella
and the Prince share another kiss, with the final words in the book,
below the illustration of the couple kissing, reading "and they lived
happily ever after."
Cinderella II: Dreams Come True
Prince Charming reappeared in the film's sequel.
In the first story "Aim to Please" he and Cinderella have just returned
from their honeymoon only to find out that he and his father must leave
on a trip. While they are gone, Cinderella must learn how to be a
princess and set up a ball in honor of their return. When they do,
Charming and his father love the new way Cinderella planned the party.
She invited guest from the village instead of just aristocrats as well
as brightening up the castle.
In the next segment, Charming and Cinderella attend a carnival
festival. He is shown at the ball with cinderella after she helps
anastasia fall in love with the baker in uncommon romance. At the end,
Charming is briefly seen reading when Jaq and Gus rush by him with a
scrapbook that they plan to show Cinderella.
Cinderella III: A Twist in Time
In A Twist in Time, the Prince had a larger role and was the
deuteragonist for the first time. In this film, Charming and Cinderella
are celebrating a year's worth of magic with their love stronger than
ever. However, in the mix of the festivities, Fairy Godmother misplaces
her wand, and it falls into the hands of Anastasia. The stepsister takes the wand to her mother Lady Tremaine, and her sister Drizella.
The two quickly disregards the power of the wand until Anastasia
accidentally turns Lucifer into a goose-cat hybrid. In a scuffle with
Fairy Godmother, Anastasia accidentally turns her into stone, and now
the wand lies in the hands of Lady Tremaine, who turns back time to when
Cinderella fitted the slipper.
Using the magic of the wand, Lady Tremaine altered the size of
the glass slipper to fit Anastasia. The Grand Duke escorts the Tremaines
to the palace to meet Prince Charming, with Cinderella secretly tagging
along to show the Prince that she's the one he waltzed with. When the
Tremaines arrive at the palace, Charming notices Anastasia not being the
right girl. He apologizes to the Tremaines and orders the Duke to send
them home. As he makes way for the door, Lady Tremaine casts a spell on
Charming, having him believe it was Anastasia at the ball, and erases
all memories of Cinderella. The Prince, now under the spell, welcomes
the Tremaines in with open arms. Cinderella's mice friends, Jaq and Gus,
were able to witness the event, and rushes to Cinderella.
Meanwhile, Charming and Anastasia begin preparations for the
wedding and in during which, Charming begins to feel uncertain about the
"love" between Anastasia and himself. According to his father, you feel
a spark in you heart when you touch the hand of your true love, but
when Charming and Anastasia's hands touched, he felt nothing. Over at
Lady Tremaine's quarters, Jaq and Gus managed to steal the wand back and
hand it over to Cinderella. She tries to break the spell but Tremaine
orders the guards to arrest her and banish her from the kingdom. Before
she was taken away, Cinderella managed to touch Charming's hand, and the
prince felt a connection. Jaq and Gus are able to persuade the Prince
that Cinderella is the real girl from the ball, and Charming rushes off
to save her from banishment.
The two reunite and return to the palace, where they begin the
wedding preparations. However, Lady Tremaine kidnaps Cinderella and
morphs Anastasia into a clone of her. At the wedding, Cinderella manages
to return, and Anastasia confesses the scheme to Charming. Tremaine
attempts to get even by transforming Cinderella and Anastasia into toads
but Charming repels the magic beam with his sword, transforming Lady
Tremaine and Drizella into toads instead. After the Fairy Godmother is
restored to normal, she offers to restore their original timeline, but
Charming and Cinderella decline, as they are happy and content for what
they have accomplished in this new timeline. In the end, Charming and
Cinderella finally marry and live happily ever after, again, and
Anastasia is welcomed into the royal family.
Cinderella is beautiful and kind. She was made a
servant in her own home by her evil stepmother and stepsisters,
Anastasia and Drizella. However, she maintains hope through her dreams
of happiness and someday finding her true love.
PERSONALITY
Cinderella is a headstrong and independent young woman who is truly
beautiful because she doesn't let her anger and sorrow get the better of
her. She is kind to most and is in no way depicted as naive or
childish. She is extremely mature and has shown that she can overcome
her obstacles without the aid of magic. She has also been shown to have a
slight sarcastic side to her, as seen in her comments about her
step-family and Lucifer, but usually keeps such comments to herself.
Cinderella has shown to be rather intelligent and clever especially
considering how poorly raised she was after the absence of her parents.
She is also resourceful by using her mother's old fashioned dress and
imagining a beautiful ball gown. She has also shown that she is very
patient and calm.
While her love for Price Charming is
incredibly strong, prior to them meeting each other on the night of the
ball, marrying and/or finding her "prince" was not her main priority.
As opposed to earlier princess Snow White, Cinderella simply wanted to
live a better life and escape the harsh world of her wicked stepmother
and sisters.
APPEARANCES
CINDERELLA
Cinderella is shown as a mistreated
young girl (stepchild to Madame Tremaine)
who dreams of escaping the torturous lifestyle she has to endure
working as a maid for her stepfamily, which consists of her stepmother
Lady Tremaine, stepsisters Anastasia and Drizella, and their pet cat
Lucifer.
She is notable for being silenced repeatedly by Lady Tremaine, creating
the assumption that Cinderella's job as scullery maid requires her to
do chores without speaking out. Her only friends she have around the
chateau are the mice (especially Jaq and Gus), the birds, Bruno the dog and Major the horse.
One day, when Cinderella receives an invitation to a royal ball at the King's castle,
she delivers it to her stepmother, who tells her she can go, if she is
finished with all her chores and is able to find something suitable to
wear. After thanking her stepmother, she goes back to her room, where
she shows the mice and birds a dress that had belonged to her late
mother. She is about to get on to fixing the dress when she is
unexpectedly called downstairs by her impatient, infuriated stepsisters,
leaving the mice and the birds, feeling pity for her, up to themselves
to help prepare a dress for Cinderella. Jaq and Gus must fetch supplies
from old dresses that have belonged to Anastasia and Drizella, as well
as the beads.
Later that night, Cinderella knocks the door to inform her
stepmother that a carriage has arrived, which means that it is time to
go to the ball. When Lady Tremaine notes that Cinderella has not yet
dressed for the event, Cinderella replies that she is not going, to
which Lady Tremaine points out that there are other times Cinderella
will be able attend while smiling wickedly to her daughters about
Cinderella not going. Cinderella walks back to her room and looks out
the window toward the castle, wondering what a royal ball will look
like. Just then, her bird and mice friends reveal a surprise: a dress
for the ball that they have fixed for her. She thanks them for showing
how much they care for her, changes into the dress, and rushes
downstairs to join her stepfamily. However, when they see Cinderella,
Lady Tremaine compliments her dress and points it out to her daughters,
who then fly into a rage and furiously tear it apart, having realized
that Cinderella has used their discarded materials for the dress.
Cinderella is left with her dress ravaged as her stepfamily leaves
for the ball, wishing her good night. Realizing that now she is unable
to go to the ball, she bursts into tears and runs outside to the garden,
with the mice, Bruno and Major following her in sadness. She throws
herself onto a bench and begins sobbing at the apparent loss of her
dreams. Shortly thereafter, the magical Fairy Godmother appears to
comfort Cinderella. She insists that Cinderella attend the ball and
demonstrates her magical abilities as she transforms a pumpkin into a
coach, mice into horses, Major into a coachman, and Bruno into a footman
before transforming Cinderella's ragged dress into a beautiful,
sparkling ball gown, complete with glass slippers. The Fairy Godmother
warns Cinderella that all her magic will be broken at the stroke of
midnight. Cinderella thanks her, jumps into the coach and sets off for
the ball, waving goodbye to the Fairy Godmother.
Cinderella arrives at the castle while the ball is still in
procession. She walks upstairs to the castle's ballroom, where she
attracts the attention of Prince Charming, who is enchanted by her
sparkling appearance and walks over to her. He escourts her to the
middle of the ballroom, and, surrounded by other maidens in attendance,
the two begin to waltz. The duo have some private time together
(courtesy of The Grand Duke),
during which they fall in love with each other and are about to kiss,
but then the clock begins to strike midnight, prompting Cinderella, who
has lost track of time, to leave abruptly, realizing that the Fairy
Godmother's magic is about to end. As she runs down the stairs, she
inadvertently drops one of her two glass slippers; nevertheless, she
jumps into the coach and leaves the castle. At the clock's twelfth
strike, the spell breaks, reverting everything back to what it had been.
After running behind the bushes to hide from from the palace guards
(summoned by the Grand Duke) who gallop past the pumpkin (smashing it in
the process), Cinderella, once again in her ravaged dress, expresses
her sorriness to the mice, Major and Bruno for forgetting the time
before going over her wonderful experience at the ball, including the
best part—dancing with the Prince—that has filled her with indescribable
feelings. Just as she accepts that it has all ended, Jaq and Gus point
out a glass slipper, the only remaining object from the Fairy
Godmother's magic, on her foot. Cinderella thanks her friends and her
Fairy Godmother for everything as she takes off the slipper, which she
keeps as something useful later on.
Meanwhile, at the castle, the King has ordered the Grand Duke to
search all over the kingdom for whoever can fit the slipper, the only
clue of the mysterious maiden. Back at Cinderella's chateau, Cinderella
has resumed her mundane duties of a maid. As she walks upstairs,
carrying breakfast for them, she overhears Lady Tremaine telling
Anastasia and Drizella about the news of the Duke's search for the girl
who has lost a slipper at the ball last night and whom the prince is
madly in love with, causing Cinderella, who remembers her wonderful
times at the ball, to become distracted and drop their breakfast in the
process. As she cleans up the mess (ordered by Lady Tremaine), she
overhears Lady Tremaine continuing to tell her daughters that the girl
who can fit the slipper will be the prince's bride, making Cinderella
smile dreamily, even when her stepsisters stack clothings in her arms,
the sight of which makes the two suspicious of her peculiar facial
expression. Upon hearing that the two have to get dressed in preparation
for the Duke's arrival, Cinderella decides that she too must get ready.
She puts down the clothing and heads upstairs to her room, singing and
humming the tune she and the Prince had sung at the ball, unaware that
her sly stepmother, from spying on her dance-like movements, has made
the connection that Cinderella must have attended the ball and danced
with the Prince. Jaq and Gus see Lady Tremaine heading upstairs to the
tower and, sensing the danger, rush to Cinderella's room to warn her,
but Cinderella silences them, as she is busy preparing herself to meet
the Duke. By the time she catches sight of Lady Tremaine at the door
(through a mirror), it is too late, as the wicked stepmother has turned
the key to lock and slammed the door shut, locking Cinderella in her
room and leaving the situation up to Jaq and Gus to resolve.
A short time later, the Grand Duke arrives at the chateau. While
Cinderella sobs in front of the locked door, believing that her dreams
of being reunited with the Prince have been lost, Jaq and Gus steal the
key to her room from Lady Tremaine. Cinderella hears Jaq and Gus panting
up the stairs outside her room and looks through the keyhole to see
that the two mice have finally made it to the top, filling her once
again with relief and hope, but is again shocked when Lucifer traps Gus
inside a bowl, along with the key. She orders Lucifer to let Gus go, but
the stubborn cat refuses. When the mice and the birds' attempts to make
Lucifer release Gus fail, Cinderella, quickly realizing that Bruno can
be the one to get rid of Lucifer, tells the birds to fetch the dog.
After Bruno scares the cat into jumping out of the window, Jaq and Gus
wedge the key through an opening between the door and the floor,
allowing Cinderella to finally exit her room and head downstairs. Just
as the Duke is about to leave, Cinderella calls out to him, and he helps
her onto a chair so that she can try on the slipper. He calls for his
footman to deliver the slipper, but Lady Tremaine trips him with her
cane, causing the slipper to fly and shatter into pieces in front of the
Duke and Cinderella. As the Duke reacts in horror and terror about the
King's reaction, Cinderella reveals that she has the other slipper,
which she pulls out from her apron, horrifying her stepmother but
filling the Duke with joy. He slides the slipper onto Cinderella's foot,
and it fits perfectly.
Cinderella, along with the mice, Bruno and Major, is then taken
to the castle, where her dreams come true as she reunites with Prince
Charming and becomes his bride. The King and the Grand Duke happily
celebrate their marriage as the newlyweds head downstairs to a carriage
that will take them on their honeymoon. As Cinderella walks down the
stairs with the Prince, she drops her slipper once again, but the King
assists her in putting it back on, to which Cinderella gives him a kiss
on the head as a way of thanks. Cinderella and the Prince ride off in
the carriage, and Cinderella waves goodbye to her mice friends, who wave
back at her. As the carriage pulls away, Cinderella and the Prince
share another kiss, with the final words in the book, below the
illustration of the couple kissing, reading "and they lived happily ever
after."
CINDERELLA II : DREAMS COME TRUE
Jaq and Gus set off to make a new
book to narrate what happens after
the ending of the previous story, by stringing three segments of stories
together, making three stories: "Aim to Please", "Tall Tail" and "An
Uncommon Romance". In the first story, Cinderella and Prince Charming
return home and soon a party begins. In "Tall Tail", she works on
planning to build up a festival. The mouse named Jaq in the previous
film has transformed into a human named Sir Hugh. In the third story,
called "An Uncommon Romance", she helps her stepsister Anastasia
reconcile with the baker. Towards the end of the film, she reads a book
the mice have already made for her to them all.
CINDERELLA III : A TWIST IN TIME
Cinderella and Prince Charming are celebrating their anniversary when Fairy Godmother
accidentally loses her wand to Anastasia. She immediately takes it to
Lady Tremaine and Drizella who learn the power of the wand and how to
wield it properly. The villains reverse time to before Cinderella tried
on the slipper. By using magic, the slipper is able to fit Anastasia.
Cinderella tries to convince Lady Tremaine that the slipper belongs to
her by showing her the other. Instead, Lady Tremaine calls her night
with Prince Charming nothing more than a dream and destroys the other
slipper. Cinderella is left at the château while her stepmother, sister,
and Lucifer, make way to the castle to meet her prince. Devastated and
confused, Cinderella begins to attend to her normal duties but regains
her confidence and decides to meet with the prince herself knowing he
should recognize her when he sees her. Cinderella, Jaq, Gus and two
bluebirds, sneak into the palace and begin their search.
When she finally bumps into him however, he fails to recognize
her. Heartbroken, Cinderella tears at the loss of her love. Jaq and Gus
arrive to expose Lady Tremaine's villainy. Upon finding out that Lady
Tremaine used the wand to wipe Charming's memory of Cinderella and make
him believe Anastasia was the one he danced with, Cinderella forgets her
sorrows and jumps into action. At Lady Tremaine's room, Jaq and Gus
sneak in to grab the wand. They are almost exposed by Lucifer until
Cinderella enters disguised as a maid. Lady Tremaine discovers her
anyway and a chase follows. Jaq and Gus hand the wand to Cinderella but
before she could flip the spell, the guards arrest her. Lady Tremaine
regains the wand and orders the guards to send Cinderella to the next
ship leaving the kingdom to have her banished.
Jaq, Gus and the bluebirds meet up with Charming. He finds his
memory again and begins to remember Cinderella. He rushes off on his
horse to rescue her before the ship sets sail. He is too late, but
manages to find himself on board. The couple reunite and heads back to
the palace. There, the King orders the Grand Duke and the guards to
search the castle for the stepfamily to have them arrested. As
Cinderella is preparing for her wedding which is to occur that night,
Lady Tremaine and Lucifer appear out of the shadows. Tremaine transforms
Anastasia into a beautiful and exact copy of Cinderella and plans to
have her marry Charming in her place. Tremaine then sends Cinderella,
Jaq, and Gus to be killed by a human Lucifer.
Still, Cinderella manages to escape her death and uses her time
to make way to the castle. Charming and "Cinderella" are ready to marry
but Anastasia refuses and reveals herself. Enraged, Lady Tremaine
becomes mad with power as the guards prepare to arrest them. She turns
them into animals and decides to turn Anastasia into a toad. Cinderella
blocks her path making Tremaine much more comfortable with the process.
Using his sword, Charming blocks the magic and repels it to Tremaine and
Drizella. They are transformed into toads themselves and end up in the
palace's basement. Cinderella and Charming marry while Anastasia
transforms into her ordinary self. The King welcomes Anastasia into the
palace putting aside the past. Together, Cinderella and Anastasia return
the Fairy Godmother and the wedding continues.
